Yep, I know it’s getting late, I’m back at work early mornings and had not recovered enough from my cross-country B-Movie trip last night to get a post organized for this morning.

Anyhoo, this doesn’t exactly have a Monster (unless the protagonist counts, more by dint of behavior than appearance) but it definitely has a bit of a horror vibe. And honestly it is just one I hadn’t thought of in many years until our movie host queued it up as a short subject Saturday morning.

Petty was always a bit interested in the visual grotesque (see the earlier video for Don’t Come Around Here No More, which ends on a truly disgusting yet creative note) and this is no exception. Besides, it “stars” Kim Basinger back when she was still quite the ingenue.

I once heard a story from a friend of seeing the late Mr. Petty riding around their gated community naked on a motor scooter. I have no idea whether the story is true, but it’s the sort of thing that really ought to be.
