More 80s movie tie-in goodness.
The Dudes of Wrath were actually a briefly-lived (a couple songs on a single soundtrack) supergroup consisting of Paul Stanley (KISS), Desmond Child (better known as the writer of half the power-ballad-hair-band hits of the time than as a vocalist), Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard), Guy Mann-Dude, Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Whitesnake), Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), and Michael Anthony (Van Halen) and Kane Roberts (Alice Cooper band) on backing vocals. It may or may not have been much of a movie, but it had a hell of a soundtrack. This is also the second appearance of Jean Beauvior as a songwriter on this years list, as he co-wrote this track with Child.
Actually, despite playing the album faithfully back in the day, I’ve never seen Wes Craven’s attempt to create a franchise slasher he had the rights to, but I understand it isn’t terrible. Maybe I’ll fix that this weekend.
